Our story

I’m Monica.

I was born in 1964 in a mountain village on Lake of Como.
My mother had a small sewing workshop, where I spent my free time during my summer holidays, cutting and sewing scraps of fabrics.
I liked to pick up a piece of fabric, imagine what it could become and see it transform in my hands.
Over the years this passion of mine has become my job.

The most important turning point in my personal and working life took place in 1997 with the birth of my daughter Martina, who catapulted my husband Massimo and me into a wonderful world, which we did not know and which we discovered with curiosity and joy.

The birth of our product

While my mother’s laboratory was producing sanitary items, I met a breastfeeding consultant (a special thanks goes to Emily), who introduced me and supported me during Martina’s breastfeeding.

It was from her that I learned the importance of Babywearing, the practice of “carrying the baby on”.

It is an ancient practice, which allows you to experiment with protection, containment and safety.
In fact, Babywearing recreates an environment similar to that of the womb for the newborn.

Products entirely handmade in Italy

At that time, the entire practice was totally entrusted to unsuitable products.
Therefore, the opportunity arose to create products ourselves that would help us during this beautiful but demanding phase.
We tried to create models that were as comfortable and practical as possible, but at the same time resistant and of quality.
We needed a support that would allow us to keep Martina always close (also because she really didn’t want to be separated from us).
Taking a cue from an ergonomic baby carrier already used by another mother, we were able to create a support that was finally suitable.

Several new parents asked us for information on this. Thus began the first bookings.
Our products were also appreciated and recommended by midwives.

The breastfeeding pillow was also a novelty, at first we used polystyrene padding, while later we introduced a natural padding: organic spelled chaff.

Your needs, our guide.

In those years the Internet was taking its first steps, so it was difficult, if not impossible, for us to advertise online.
The only way to make ourselves known was to present our products to those who had contact with new mothers, that is, midwives or breastfeeding consultants.
We traveled many kilometers around Italy, aboard our Fiorino and with Martina in tow.

In the meantime, my other friends also became mothers and many of them, living abroad, returned in the summer carrying accessories that were not found in Italy, but very useful.
This is why I started to introduce among our products also the baby sling, a valid alternative to the already tested baby carrier; then it was the turn of nursing shirts that allow you to breastfeed anywhere and with discretion and from there other items of clothing.

With the advent of the Internet and therefore the consequent direct contact with mothers and fathers, as well as midwives and physiotherapists, our requests increased more and more.
Some of these were very specific and came from both new parents for the support of their baby and for the production of pillows that could support and help the positioning of bedridden people.

In this way we were contacted directly by customers, who, based on their needs, requested a particular product.
All this has inspired us to always create different alternatives.

Our entire business is based on artisanal and “tailored” service, as well as on the experience of being among the first in Italy to produce and market this type of product.
